| Tragedy in Basra
The MWL is saddened by the tragic
loss of Iraqi civilians especially the 18 children killed in the car
bombings. These "car bombing" tactics are cowardly attempts to
terrorize people and create an atmosphere of fear and chaos to fulfill a
specific political agenda. The MWL condemns any and all actions that
injure and kill the innocent and encourages all efforts to reconcile
differences through peaceful strategies and mediation. We ask God to grant
the Iraqi people ease from their hardship and help them in their struggle
towards freedom, peace, and security.
