| 50th Anniversary of US
Supreme Court Ruling
The MWL celebrates the ruling of
"Brown vs. Board of Education" (the desegregation of public
schools) which was a historic but necessary step to realize the principle
of this country and of our religion that "God created all men,
equal." The world was created by the One God and entrusted to
men/women to act as His vice-gerents on earth to promote what is good and
forbid what is evil. He created us with different physical attributes,
which this Quranic verse explains: "O Humanity! Behold, we have
created you all out of a male and female, and have created you into
tribes, so that you might come to know one another. Verily, the noblest of
you in the sight of God is the one who is most deeply conscious of Him.
" (49:13) Thus God judges us by our actions and closeness to Him -
and not our physical attributes. May God guide us to overcome the
remaining obstacles of racial prejudice that exist in this country and
around the world.
