The Muslim
Women's League regrets Pope Benedict's recent comments regarding Islam
at a time when the world needs religious leaders to act with
enlightenment and knowledge to bring peace, justice and harmony to a
world on the verge of chaos, violence and ignorance. We urge the
Pope and other religious leaders to resume dialogue with Muslim leaders
to bridge the gap of understanding and foster love between the Catholics
and Muslims. The Muslim Women's League condemns any type of
violence against civilians or burning of churches in retaliation for
comments made against Islam or the Prophet. There is no
justification for destroying sanctioned places of worship.
